Evalena Beach Hotel

The lifeguard deserves special mention for going well beyond his official duties to look after guests throughout the day. All the staff were friendly and very helpful, and the hotel, rooms, pool, and surrounding areas were kept spotless. It’s right on the beachfront promenade.

We had a great week here and got home on 9th November. It was our second time in protaras, but our first stay at this hotel. The location beside the protatas pier was really handy for the boat trip we took, and there are restaurants nearby. The main strip is about a 10-15 minute walk. The hotel was spotless and the staff were so friendly and helpful. We stayed on a B&B basis, with plenty of choice at breakfast. The pool was lovely and we never had trouble finding a sunbed. I also used the hairdressers, which was brilliant and so convenient while I was attending a wedding. We’ll definitely be back.

We spent time walking along the shore, covering kilometre after kilometre, stopping by the beach now and then before carrying on. The hotel is very close to it. Our room didn’t face the beach, so you could ask for a sea view if that matters to you, the sea is beautiful. Getting around is easy. The bus stop is 700 metres away, with buses usually every 10 minutes to Ayia Napa, Paralimni, and other places. A ride costs 2 euros per person. There’s also a market about 500 metres away. For taxis, reception can arrange rides and has prices available so you know the cost. The hotel is clean, the staff are friendly, and there are plenty of people around to help. Breakfast has a wide selection, almost anything you could ask for, and is a good start to the day. Our room was clean, the towels were changed daily, and the cleaning was thorough. The fairly large fridge worked well for keeping our own snacks and drinks cold. The pool area is clean and pleasant, with a bar. We didn’t spend much time there, but it’s a good option if you want it. The hotel also has a shop for little essentials, water, and snacks. We didn’t try the hotel restaurant or bar this visit. For dinner nearby, we loved Vangelis and Happy days. They were mostly full even in April, so in summer you’d probably need a reservation. A very good place to stay in Protaras and worth the holiday spend.
