The beach is a long walk away, but the free bus service is a definite plus. The restaurant at the front of the hotel is part of the hotel, and its food is excellent. The food changes every day, and the staff and entertainment team are excellent too. What a lovely hotel. We'll definitely be back.

The place was generally clean, our room was made up daily, the loungers were pretty comfortable, and the savoury choices at lunch and dinner were fairly good. Even so, the resort wasn't for us. We got home yesterday after a week and were quite relieved to be heading back. We knew there were two children's pools and water slides, and thought there was also an adults-only pool or area. In practice, the whole place was mobbed with rowdy children. The supposed quiet pool was constantly full of kids with super soakers, ball games and large inflatables, despite signs saying inflatables weren't allowed. Groups of children noisily barged around, climbed and ran along walls, and kicked footballs near the bar until the small hours. The only little adults' corner had 14 loungers around a cold jacuzzi, and seven of those never got any sun. It was often missed when tidying, with used cups still left there the next day. Staff also seemed much more attentive to children and families, and as two adults we felt invisible. We've stayed at resorts that work well for couples and families, but in our view this one didn't. The drinks weren't good either. The only cocktail we enjoyed was made on our last day by a different woman who appeared at the bar and made lovely drinks for about half an hour, then disappeared again. The other cocktails mostly tasted of sugar syrup, and the wines and prosecco seemed extremely dubious in quality. Breakfast seemed particularly poor, and the desserts at other meals were unpleasant and tasted of sugar. There was quantity over quality, and the restaurant had no atmosphere. Eating there felt more like a busy canteen than anything special. The rooms technically had shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and hand soap, but all the containers held the same watered-down lemony mix. Our bathroom was a poorly ventilated wet room, and the drain didn't clear properly, so it always felt damp.

The staff really stood out. Reception, waiters, lifeguards and cleaners were all incredibly kind and gave outstanding service. The rooms were comfortable and well kept, and the atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing. It's a charming, quiet resort, very family-friendly and ideal for a stay with kids. The beach is a bit of a distance away, but the shuttle makes getting there easy. I'd highly recommend it for a relaxing family holiday.

I've stayed here six times and can't wait for my next holiday. It's a little piece of paradise, and the staff look after you from the start of your stay right through to getting on the transfer home. Nothing is too much bother. There's something for everyone to eat and drink, including beautiful stews and grilled meats, even a roast dinner. The drinks are international brands, and you can get cocktails the way you like them. I love st elias resort.
