Protaras Olivine Pearl Villa 20

The house was clean when we arrived, and the location is very good, with the beach close enough to reach on foot or by car. But we weren't told there was construction opposite the villa. When we complained to the agents about the dust and noise, they said it had been mentioned on Booking.com. It wasn't. I visit Cyprus often and check villa details carefully, and there was no mention of contractors. If I'd known, I wouldn't have booked. Work started at 6 a.m. and carried on past 7 p.m., including Saturdays, despite being told it would run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. I have proof. The pool was green and disgusting, as if it hadn't been cleaned for a while. The agency said the previous guests left a day before us, which doesn't explain its condition. Reviews going back to 2021 mention similar complaints, and the agency should be more upfront. They advised us to keep the windows and doors shut because of the dust, which isn't practical in 28°C weather. Air conditioning was available, but using it too much meant extra charges. The whole approach showed a lack of common sense. At minimum, some compensation should be offered so guests feel comfortable and valued. The experience was very disappointing and unprofessional.
