We booked two Standard Studio Apartments with inland views through JoinUp and came away very disappointed. The rooms looked nothing like the photos on JoinUp’s site. Those pictures all seem to show the Premium apartments. When we raised this, reception said we had paid for standard rooms and there was nothing they could do. To me, that’s false advertising. The gaps under the entrance doors were large enough to fit a finger through, and the air conditioning didn’t work properly as a result. The rooms also had dirty walls and chipped paint on the doors. Cleaning wasn’t done automatically; we had to ask reception for it. Breakfast wasn’t the buffet advertised on JoinUp’s website. We were given a menu with just four or five dishes to choose from. Asking the waitress for extra jam or marmalade for toast got us an unpleasant look. Coffee was only a packet of Nescafe Brassero and sugar. A latte or espresso cost extra. The shower pressure was so poor that rinsing off soap wasted a lot of water. There was no rack for drying swimsuits, which took a long time in the humid bathroom. We contacted the agency hoping for a resolution, and they tried to help, but the hotel wouldn’t take responsibility and blamed the agency.

My partner and I saved for almost a year to afford a proper holiday, so this was a crushing disappointment. The room was the biggest problem. The photos online at Google, Booking and JoinUp, where we booked, showed large, attractive rooms. Ours was much smaller than those advertised, with old scratched furniture that looked centuries out of date. There were no photos of the room we actually got. If we’d seen it beforehand, we wouldn’t have booked. The bathroom was in even worse shape, with rust, yellow stains and dirty floors. The walls were stained and had water seepage, and the free Wi-Fi didn’t work in our room. When we complained, staff said they’d move us to the room we had booked, but then told us there were suddenly no rooms available. We want people thinking of booking to know what happened. We’re deeply disappointed and will try to take the matter further. After all the effort we put into this holiday, this just isn’t fair or normal. Please see the photos below.

I spent two weeks here and wouldn’t recommend the hotel. My stay wasn’t entirely awful, but I can only speak for my room and circumstances. I’d shop around or book direct for better value. The pool area was filthy and in poor repair, so we drove to a different pool for all but one day. The cover on the baby pool’s manhole kept coming off, the water got as warm as bath water in the afternoon, and both pools looked cloudy and felt a bit slimy. The loungers were very worn, though there was always one available. Some guests argued, but that wasn’t the hotel’s fault. Our room, number 141, was okay, on the third floor overlooking the pool with a slight sea view. I moved the kids’ beds away from a window that didn’t lock, worried they might try to open it, and kept the blind shut the whole stay so they wouldn’t notice it. The furniture was a bit grubby but nothing terrible. The lift was in poor shape, and the corridors had no lights at night, which was difficult for me because I’m night blind. Some rooms may not have lift access, so check if mobility is an issue. The staff weren’t friendly. We arrived in the dark, and the man checking us in managed it without saying a word. Cleanliness could be better too. The maids were irregular and did the minimum, so I bought antibacterial wipes and cleaned everything myself at the start. The bathroom floor was gross and the floors always felt dirty. I don’t think our sheets were changed in the full two weeks. I also saw a few huge cockroaches, though to be fair, I think they’re a general problem in this climate. The hotel is about a ten-minute walk from the main strip. That means you’re away from the evening bustle but still nearby. Depending on which side of the hotel your room is on, you can hear the main road and cars and quad bikes into the early hours, though it never woke me once I was asleep. Being unable to nip straight to the beach may bother some people, but it didn’t bother me. I usually think you get what you pay for, but a four-star hotel cost about the same two weeks before our trip. We tried to switch, but Jet2 wanted over £600 in admin fees. For a family of four paying nearly £4,000, I was disappointed that Jet2 considers Sweet Memories good customer service. I checked the direct hotel prices and found Jet2 had made over £2,000 profit.

The room was just right for us, spacious and with everything you’d want. We enjoyed a little time at the pool and on the loungers, with music adding a cheerful feel. The lovely staff gave us a warm welcome. It was a great stay, and we’ll be back.

May 12th - 17th 2025. We had booked this short four-night stay as a taster, since we’re both recently retired and were looking forward to a four-week break at the same hotel apartments in September. We’ve been coming to Cyprus for 26 years and never needed to complain before. We like trying different apartment blocks, or we did. We’ve now moved our September holiday to an apartment hotel we’ve stayed at before because we adore Cyprus. Room 831 was dreadful, with no redeeming features. We didn’t unpack. There was grime in the corners of the tiled floor, flat old pillows and a mattress with just a sheet and no protector. The door lock sat out of place, the door was hastily painted, and gaffer tape covered its bottom on the inside. Kitchen cupboards were marked and warped, apparently from an old ceiling leak, and their shelves were badly water damaged. The polystyrene ceiling tiles were dirty and damaged, with a light hanging loose. The fridge worked but was very old and tatty. One bedroom drawer wouldn’t shut and was dirty inside, while another wouldn’t open. The bathroom towel rail fell off when I tried to hang the towels on it. There was no hot water, and the kitchen and bathroom basin taps had very little pressure. We were deeply disappointed with this break.
