Toxotis Hotel

The pool area was nice and most of the staff were attentive. The location was OK, but we won't return. For what we paid, we could stay somewhere much better. The rooms smelled, the beds were extremely uncomfortable, and the balconies had brick walls so you couldn't see anything while sitting down. That was perhaps a bonus, since our inland view was wasteland and bins. The food was the worst I've had at an all inclusive. Comfort doesn't seem to be a priority here. The hotel looks OK from outside, but badly needs a revamp, even if they just replaced those awful beds. We had an Inbetweeners movie moment, watching everyone get dropped at stunning hotels while ours was one of the last.

We were there as a couple, aged 50 and 55, with friends for Cyprus Rocks. The rooms were basic but cleaned daily, and we had air con and a good hot shower. Staff were friendly, the pool area was lovely, and the sunbeds were good without any early morning scramble. I liked the place. The pool isn't green with algae, the staff aren't rude, and they don't all speak English perfectly. You may not speak Greek either. Be nice and you'll get nice back. I don't understand the bad reviews, and the beds were fine to me. You always get twin beds, even at a premier inn. If you can't enjoy a different culture, try benidorm.

The staff were kind and worked hard, and the made to order lunch snacks deserve a mention. For the price, it was very good value, though naturally it's not comparable to big 4/5 star chains like RIU or Melia, which cost much more. The hard beds were the one thing that really bothered me. They should upgrade them to something more comfortable.

The rooms were nice, but the beds felt like stones. They were two singles pushed together, and I had to ask for a double mattress to put on top. That made it bearable. I also needed an extra pillow, since they only give one tiny one each. The shower setup wasn't great either. Water ran across the bathroom floor when showering, so we had to use a towel to keep it dry and shut the toilet lid to stop the seat getting soaked. The hotel's in a lovely location, but that doesn't make up for our problems. Most staff are nice to talk to, though some don't speak. The food was awful at breakfast, lunch, dinner, and the snack bar. None of the four of us found anything we'd eat again. It was dry, overcooked, and lacked flavour. Three nights into our seven night stay, after trying every meal, we were leaving everything on our plates and going out to buy food at an all inclusive hotel. There was only one bar staff member working by the pool at a time, which didn't seem fair to them. The alcohol selection was boring, with no amaretto or Malibu, and the drink measures changed each time. There were seven cocktails on the menu, but a drink that seemed nice could taste completely different when ordered again because the measures varied so much. The supposed ice cream was tiny off brand magnums. The menu listed vanilla, chocolate, and banana, but when I asked for chocolate they said it was vanilla ice cream covered in chocolate. It wasn't great. I complained about the food, but the woman at the front desk was brisk and rude, saying the manager was busy and we'd have to speak to her. The manager was wandering around the so called buffet, which also had very few options. Frankly, I doubt she'll take our complaint further. I'm disappointed and gutted to write this, but I want to be honest so others don't have the same experience.
