Tsokkos Anastasia Beach Hotel

The noise at night was one of the worst parts of the stay. A nightclub next door played extremely loud music until very late, making it especially hard for families with young children to sleep. There was also water leaking from an electrical panel in the corridor, as shown in the attached photo, which is a serious safety concern and needs immediate attention. The rooms and shared areas were dirty and poorly maintained, with a persistent unpleasant smell; the hotel and rooms badly need a full renovation. The facilities are dated and fall short of what guests would expect. Food quality and variety were mediocre at best, often below average. This was a very disappointing experience. The hotel needs major renovation, better upkeep and cleanliness, and more care for guests’ comfort and safety. I wouldn’t stay here again.

The pool and waterpark were great, and our daughter loved the mini disco. There was a nice entertainment programme, a good range of food, and a different dinner theme each night. I also saw a whole team cleaning the public areas every morning, so I have no complaints about cleanliness. We spent six nights there and were very satisfied overall, and would return. The beach is a two-minute walk away. Sunbeds and umbrellas cost 10EUR a day, though we used the sunbeds on the nearby grassy area. The hotel gave us a 10/10 in our particular situation: we couldn’t make it to our non-refundable booking, and they kindly let us postpone it by exactly one year. They didn’t owe us anything, but understood our circumstances. In normal circumstances, I’d rate it 8.5/10. It’s good value for money. I’d take off a point for the room-service savings: they didn’t replenish soap, shampoo, coffee or tea during our stay, though they would provide them if asked. On vacation, I don’t want to have to ask. The toilet sometimes smelled bad, for reasons unrelated to us, and the air conditioner had a strange smell. I’d deduct another half point because soft drinks aren’t allowed with dinner, though coffee is. To me, it feels like a way to earn extra from guests who aren’t All Inclusive, especially since those juices cost very little.

I was nervous after reading some reviews, but we had a fantastic week with our young kids. The staff were wonderful and friendly, the food was lovely, and our room was very clean. There was a different dinner theme each night with plenty of variety.

The pool was a highlight, especially for families, and the location makes it easy to get to the beach, shops and restaurants. The rooms were clean and well kept, and the common areas felt pleasant and relaxing. Staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful, and the food had a nice variety. Anastasia Hotel in Protaras made for a comfortable, enjoyable stay and a solid option for a relaxing holiday.
