Vangelis Hotel & Suites

The suite was a good size, the location was good, staff treated us nicely, and cleaning was good. But the food was very repetitive and tasteless. I've eaten at lots of places, including a la carte restaurants, so I have plenty to compare it with. We ended up eating out several times, and the food is why I wouldn't recommend the hotel. The pools were very cold, there was some black mould in the shower, the all-inclusive offering was limited, and the shows were very loud after 23:00.

We spent a week here, and it's a real gem. We researched it before arriving, but that doesn't do it justice. You have to see it for yourself. The hotel is clean throughout, staff are available 24 hours and extremely helpful, and the food really caters for everyone. There's entertainment every night except one day off, plus a mini disco for the little ones. We came as a couple and found the over-18s pool area, which was a peaceful bonus. We'll definitely book again.

The pool was a big hit with the kids, and our room was spacious and comfortable. There was plenty of choice at meals for both the children and adults, so we hardly ate out. Even with the hotel fully booked, it felt peaceful and never too noisy or crowded. We were there at the end of August with three adults and two toddlers, and the staff made the stay: reception was always ready to help, everyone was welcoming, and my autistic child absolutely adored Alex in the dining room. The service went beyond what we expected. We'd gladly return again and again.

The restaurant staff were funny and very professional, and the bartenders and Laxman were always polite and made fantastic drinks. Markella at reception was especially friendly, helpful, and full of energy. She always had a smile and should be the face of the hotel. Her colleague, though, often interrupted us and came across as arrogant and not very cheerful. We visited at the end of the season, when it was very quiet. On our last day, one day before the hotel closed, around 10 families were still there, but we were charged an extra 30 euros for late checkout. We hadn't been told the checkout time anywhere. All in all, it was a pleasant stay with lots of good points.
