This traditional house has a lovely front yard, a small but cosy living room with a fireplace for winter, a well-equipped kitchen, clean bedrooms and Wi-Fi. It’s in a quiet area near the Church of Saint Kalandion, also called Kalandionas, which was built in the 18th century. The village of Arodes is beautiful, and its inhabitants are kind. It’s worth learning a little about the church and the village’s history. The bathrooms need urgent renovation. The showers are old and cramped, the curtains smell, and the sinks don’t work properly. The mattresses are very uncomfortable and should be replaced. There are also lots of ants on the kitchen counters, so the owner needs to deal with that. Even with these issues, I recommend the cottage for a short break away from city life.

The house is traditional and has all the amenities. Its central location makes it easy to get around Pafos quickly. It’s the best place you can stay, highly recommended.

We spent 12 days here on a family holiday, and it made a great base for exploring. There’s a good choice of nearby restaurants, so it works well if you want to mix eating out with cooking for yourselves. Lovely house.

The best part of the house is its yard, and the hospitable neighbours next door made our stay nicer. They often brought us sweets and fresh vegetables from their yard. The traditional house is in a beautiful village, centrally located for lower Paphos, Polis Chrysochous and the wine villages. It has the necessities, including air conditioning, Wi-Fi, furniture, clean sheets and bath towels. There were, unfortunately, a lot of ants and cockroaches. They came onto the kitchen counters almost immediately if anything was left there, and seemed to live in the counters and wall sockets. The showers are very small, their heads are broken and water comes out; upstairs, the sink sags. The upstairs double-room mattress was very uncomfortable. Some renovation is needed: shower doors instead of curtains, new sinks and mattresses, among other things. It’s 2024.
