Akamanthea Holiday village Apart-Hotel

We booked four nights with an all-inclusive package for the family, then added two more because we loved it. Our apartment had a sea view, and the room was just right, with a breathtaking outlook. It was peaceful too: birds in the morning and the sound of the sea at night. The owner was very nice, and everyone from reception to housekeeping was friendly and helpful. Our waiter vasili was an amazing guy. Everything was great at Akamathea holiday village. Thanks to everyone, and we’ll definitely see you again.

The setting is peaceful, with incredible nature, a pool, and a sauna. Breakfast was delicious, especially the English breakfast, and the staff were polite. I also really liked the owner, who was kind and sweet, always ready to help and explain things. The rooms were clean, though the shower tap was broken and some towels had stains. The water didn’t get very hot at night. The building and rooms could use renovation.

We came looking for a quiet break, and this family-run place had a warm, welcoming feel. We usually do plenty of sightseeing, but here we mostly stayed by the beach or pool, with one snorkeling trip to The Blue Lagoon. It was just what we needed, and we came home relaxed and happy. We upgraded to room 221 for its kitchen area, which worked brilliantly for having breakfast whenever we wanted. The pool was cold, but okay once you got in. The beach is a short walk across a field, so expect to cross soil. Phoebe and the rest of the team were lovely and went out of their way to help with anything we needed. Thanks for the late checkout too, it made a big difference with our evening flight.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the location is handy: about a 30-minute walk from Polis, close to the beach, with bus stops and a 24/7 kiosk nearby. You can catch a daytime ride to Polis or Aphrodites Baths and pick up basic supplies. We stayed for a few days in December, so it made sense that the outdoor pool was out of commission. But the website was misleading about the studios having kitchenettes and bathtubs. We only had an electric kettle, no cups or basic utensils, and a shower. Reception said those features were only in higher-standard rooms. Our room was cold, especially at night, and we had to keep the heating on whenever we were inside. Breakfast was poor quality but edible, and the “juice” was awful.
