Konnos Bay Gardens

The place has a real 1993 feel, and I love it. It’s basic, but excellent value for money. Our twin beds were clean and comfy, and we pushed them together. There were plenty of plugs, a sea view, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. The cooking area was simple but clean, with a good range of utensils. The fridge is a proper mini fridge with a freezer box, not just a tiny drinks fridge. We could leave the patio and front door open for a nice breeze, and sitting on the balcony in the evening was peaceful. So far, we’ve had a cleaner every other day to tidy up and change the towels and bedding. There are extra pillows, a comforter, I think that’s an American thing, and blankets in the room.

KBG is a budget hotel and not fancy. The fridge was rusty on the outside, and the shower water pressure is really low. Still, it’s well run: the rooms are large and equipped with what you need, and the place seemed clean and tidy. Every room has a balcony facing the sea, though some views may be blocked by the buildings across the road. There’s a handy little convenience store at reception, and a couple or three restaurants within walking distance. It’s far from Ayia Napa, so the area is quiet unless some of the guests aren’t. Connos Beach is just down the road, so you can get there before other people. I’d definitely stay again.

The reception lady is very nice, and there’s a supermarket on site. These older apartments are very cheap but have everything you need. We had a balcony view of the nearby beach. There’s a beautiful, intimate beach nearby where you can rent sunbeds and water equipment, and there’s also a Beach Bar. Cape Greco, a bus stop and an Italian restaurant are close too. A very cool place.

The water is crystal clear and easy to get into, with no stones. It’s nice for diving too, with rocks under the water. A very beautiful place and worth visiting, though it gets a little crowded. An umbrella costs 7.5 eur to rent. On other beaches, that price gets you an umbrella and two sunbeds.
