You’ll need a car here. It’s about a half-hour drive to Girne, and there isn’t much to do within walking distance. Still, we had a lovely stay. Our apartment was clean, spacious, well equipped, and great, the pool was lovely, and it was handy having the Taro restaurant for food and drinks.

If you’re hoping to relax, I’d pick somewhere quieter. Every Friday at 7:30 a.m., a lawn mower starts up right under your window and wakes you.

I paid £55 for the ladies’ day spa at the heart center, and it was one of the most spectacular experiences I’ve had. The place was spotless, the staff were friendly, and there was a sauna, steam room, massage room, and hammam.

Sun Valley Resort suits people looking for a quiet, relaxing break. The premises are well looked after, and there’s a good-sized sports facility, a swimming pool, saunas and massages, plus a nice restaurant beside the two-level pool. Without a car, though, your options are just the gym, pool, and restaurant.

A beautiful residential property that’s clean and quiet. Residents get a great discount on membership, and there are excellent fitness club and spa facilities nearby. It isn’t walkable, so you’ll need a car.
