Sea Life Long Beach Hotel

You'll need a car when visiting Famagusta, since the hotel is far from everything and public transport doesn't come often. The rooms were spacious, modern, cleaned every day, and the hotel itself was very nice and clean. The food was tasty and freshly prepared, though the half-board menu was a little limited. We found the reception staff ignorant, and the staff could make more effort to be courteous and polite.

The restaurant has a wall of windows overlooking a beautiful, curving beach that stretches for almost five kilometers. It’s a big restaurant, and the hotel was built in the middle of summer 2018, so everything is brand new. Our room and the pool were clean. The waiters were friendly, and the chef is an amazing person, which shows in the tasty food. I met several foreign guests who loved the place too. I’d recommend it to my friends. We stayed in February, when there were clearly few guests. It came as an unpleasant surprise that, when we went for dinner with a child, we were told it would be served once a large group arrived, and it was already quite late. There was a menu of extras, but they seemed to have none of them, including cheesecake and ice cream. Two of the three saunas didn't work, and the third only worked halfway. The location felt like the middle of nowhere. Without a car, you'd be bored or hungry, as there are no proper shops within walking distance. Our window looked onto a construction site, though the view might be nice if you get a room facing the sea. The rooms also weren't very soundproof: we could hear every chair being moved and people talking loudly. On the plus side, the price was excellent, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast and dinner were just okay, nothing special, but you won't leave hungry.
