Pension Primus

We planned to stay one day and ended up adding another because we liked the place so much. The owners were really nice and helpful, the rooms were clean and stylish, and the view down to Beroun was impressive. It’s around 20-25 minutes from downtown Prague. There’s a pool in front of the house, and parking is free and included. Prices are very reasonable. We’d happily come back and recommend it.

I’d give Pension Primus 4.5 stars if I could. We booked three nights through Booking.com, and our friends had the room next door. We all recommend it. The property was very clean, had everything we needed, and the standard breakfast was tasty. Once we knew the process, it felt like we’d be able to make check-in smoother next time. At first, though, it was a bit of a quest. The registration email had the Wi-Fi details, but we didn’t spot them and it would be easier if the password were in the app or somewhere in the room. The same email sent us to an app to register everyone’s personal details and pay a city tax of €0.80 per person per night. We overlooked that, then got prompted to pay 180 CZK before we could see the room details. After paying by card, we received the room number and codes for the main entrance and room. You could enter the codes manually or use the app. Our friends’ registration only partly worked: their app showed neither their room number nor access code. A call to reception fixed it when staff reset the room code. They didn’t speak English, so we managed in German and Russian since we didn’t speak Czech. It was a small hassle, but our requests were handled and things went smoothly overall. We arrived after dark and the parking area wasn’t lit. The spaces are marked, and parking within the lines matters because otherwise other guests may not find a spot. Some lighting at night would help. Our rooms were upstairs on the second floor, reached by a long steel staircase. That was fine for us, and the views from up there were fantastic. The owners were welcoming and friendly, the prices affordable, and the surroundings calm. We’ll definitely return and recommend Pension Primus to others.

I needed a quiet weekend spot to work, and Pension Primus was just right. The Wi-Fi was strong and the room soundproofed, with a nice second-floor view and a small fridge. Breakfast was a full meal, excellent, and included. The bed was older but really comfortable, as were the pillows. The shower was nice; the WC was older, but that didn’t bother me. It’s a lovely family running the place, and though I didn’t need anything extra, I got the sense they’d be able to provide what you needed. The main difficulty is getting there on foot from the bus or train stop, since it’s uphill. Near the stops there are small food shops, a restaurant, and a nice riverside park for walks. There’s also a great pizza place by the river that does takeout.

The rooms were spotless and the view was breathtaking. The staff were extremely kind and helpful, and trustworthy too: we’d been gone for 40 minutes when my son’s forgotten watch was found, and they called us. They also worked with us to send it back. We’ll definitely return, and I strongly recommend staying here. You won’t regret it!
