Breakfast was included, which was a great surprise: a buffet with eggs, sausage, bread and a toaster, homemade jams, pancakes, fruit, herbal tea and coffee. The staff were friendly and spoke English, luckily for me since I don’t speak Czech. I slept really well and would happily stay again. I was in town for work and spent two nights at Hotel Slavia for under £100. It was excellent value, clean, and surprisingly quiet despite being on the corner of two fairly busy roads. I arrived late, but got in using a keycode sent by email that day after I’d checked in online. The shared spaces were bright and welcoming, and kept very clean. My room was spacious and had good sheets and towels, a kettle with tea and coffee, a TV, fridge and minibar with reasonable prices, a closet, mirror and workspace. The bathroom had modern fittings, a heated towel rail and hairdryer. The shower had good pressure, and the temperature changed straight away when I adjusted it.

The food was all tasty, and you can pay by card. They have a surprisingly strong range of meat-free dishes for a typical Czech menu, but then put bacon on top of some of them. They can leave it off, though, so why add it in the first place?

The food and beer were good, and I found the staff professional. At reception, Zaneta and the other woman working there were both friendly, capable and professional. Keep it up. I work in a five-star hotel, so I know how much good service and qualified staff can affect a hotel’s reputation. This was a really nice hotel, and I’ll recommend it to my friends and visit again. Clean rooms, comfy beds, good breakfasts and nice staff. Everything else was perfect, but opening the window lets in a lot of noise from cars and trains.

The rooms are modern, the food is excellent and the service is good. It’s right by the main road, so the location isn’t ideal, but keeping the windows closed solves that for me :)
