Hotel U Solné Brány

Breakfast had a small buffet with what you need, plus four a la carte choices, including egg dishes and pancakes. I stayed two nights and had dinner at the restaurant both evenings. The food was delicious and well seasoned, with presentation and cooking at a high level. I used to manage a restaurant, and the service here was second to none. Each dinner came to around 1000kc with drinks, which felt fair and nowhere near Prague prices. My room was number 4, a massive room for one, apparently freshly renovated in a simple style. It was clean and full of daylight from two balconies, one overlooking the indoor courtyard and the other roomy enough to sit out with coffee. The bathroom was small, with a shower. I felt lucky choosing this hotel. Petr at Reception was kind and ready to help whenever needed, and check-in was quick. I got my key right away. This won't be my last visit. Many thanks.

We tried a lot of dishes, and every course was outstanding. The rabbit starter, deer and veal cheek were especially good. They also made a simple extra meal for our daughter. The restaurant comes close to top fine dining, though the atmosphere is less formal. There's also a boutique hotel here, but this is a restaurant review. I'd highly recommend it.

The old building has been updated with modern, comfortable rooms. The location is handy, and you can walk there easily from either the train or bus station. Breakfast was a good buffet, with cooked-to-order options too.

The pumpkin soup was incredible, and the venison fillet was cooked just right. The chefs are real professionals. Wonderful restaurant, amazing hotel, and excellent staff. Thank you!
