Penzion Papírna

The location suited me well: about a 13-minute walk from the train station and just one minute from the city centre. It was very quiet, and I slept with the windows open without being disturbed. For the price, friendly staff, and location, I can happily recommend staying here. I spent two nights and had an easy, quick check-in at the stationary shop next door, where someone then showed me to my room. Room #4 smelled of cigarette smoke despite the no-smoking signs at the entrance and in the corridors, and the notice in the room warning of a 40€ fine for smoking. I went back to reception and asked to switch rooms, which was no problem. The replacement room was much more spacious than most hotel rooms I've seen, with a small fridge, an air purifier, and plenty of storage. They also provided two 0,33l bottles of mineral water. Neither room I saw had shampoo or shower gel, though there was liquid hand soap in a dispenser by the sink. Breakfast was served in the cafe next door. I chose the simple option, bread, marmalade, cereal, coffee, and fruit juice, which was just what I wanted, very good, and well priced. Other options included eggs and meat. There was also a small bowl of apples, and the lady said I could take one when I asked. Everything looked clean and bright, though the carpet was clearly quite old and worn.
