Horská Chata Sobík

We were completely satisfied with our stay. The six-room apartment was clean, cozy, spacious, and had a kitchenette. There was also a common room, ski room, and boot dryers. We chose this more expensive, almost luxurious place because it was closer to the slopes and better equipped than the cheaper option. For two people over 7 days, the 10,000 CZK difference felt worth it. Other accommodation closer to the slopes was available at the resort, but it was already full. The cottage is called Sobík, though it has lots of moose figures and accessories. Some people may not distinguish them, but moose are larger, males have shovel-shaped antlers, and females have none and live alone. Reindeer are smaller, their antlers are more club-shaped, females have antlers too, and they live in herds and pull Santa Claus's sleigh. As of 01/2025, each room had 2 rolls of toilet paper and 1 trash bag when we arrived, with spare rolls and bags on the shelf by the caretakers' apartment. Anyone who runs out can take more. That system is fine by me, perhaps it was introduced after earlier comments, though I still wonder why each apartment doesn't have a bigger supply. There must be a reason. In our apartment there was room for about twenty rolls on the toilet ledge and around fifty trash bags in the kitchen cupboard by the bin. I doubt guests would steal them. It is nearly luxury accommodation, and the other guests seemed decent: they greeted me in different ways, spoke English, and didn't make a mess. If I were suggesting an improvement, I'd add separate bins for plastic and paper. They don't currently sort the bins that way, though, so it would make their logistics a bit more demanding.

The whole house was pleasantly warm, and our apartment was spacious and spotlessly clean. Its location near the ski slopes was great, and the kitchenette had everything needed. There was a boot dryer in the hall and a ski storage room in a separate room. Everything was a plus.

Communication with the manager was good, and the apartment was very well equipped. They were happy to provide a cot and high chair. The downsides were having just one roll of toilet paper for the whole stay, with an extra one charged for, no ordinary soap in the bathroom, and no dishwashing liquid unless we bought it. We also only had one garbage bag.

The place is in a good location, and everything feels new. It's a very nice, clean setting with enough facilities for children. I took off a star because at this accommodation standard I would expect basics like a jar, toilet paper, and trash bags to be provided.
