Hotel Pomezí

The restaurant was cozy and had a play corner for kids, and breakfast was tasty. Our room was large with a nice view of the nearby mountains, and getting there by public transport was easy. It’s a good family stay if you’re after an active holiday with hikes to interesting places. A fridge or kettle in the room would have been useful. The restaurant prices felt fairly high, though perhaps not much more than elsewhere around here. In Cínovec there aren’t regular shops like a grocery store or bakery nearby.

A great base for hikes and rides, with lovely surroundings. Dinner had a good range of choices, though breakfast was a little underwhelming. The room was clean, but the bathroom could use some attention. We could hear the person next door talking and snoring very clearly through the thin walls. Still, I thought it was good value for the money.

Because of severe weather across Europe, flights were cancelled or badly delayed and I had to cancel my trip. I contacted the owner at 6am on arrival day, only hours after paying for the accommodation. I showed Milan proof of the delay, but he wasn’t willing to follow the terms and conditions. I felt he was only interested in charging for a room I couldn’t use because of an act of God. If keeping to the stated agreement matters to you, I’d avoid this place. I’m now contacting my card provider to try to get the reservation money back.

We found just what we needed on the way: a spacious room, a warm welcome, and really good Czech food and beer 🍺. They let us leave our bikes somewhere safe overnight. The people were lovely, and so was the cat 😸. We had a very nice stay and would definitely recommend the Pomezi. Thank you!
