Pension Luscinia

We’d happily stay here again. It’s great value, with restaurants close by and a hearty breakfast to start the day. The guesthouse is right in the town center, and our comfortable room had a private shower and balcony with a fantastic view of the ski jump. We also got a warm welcome.

The location is good, and the pension itself has a nice feel, but it could use more care. Breakfast was below average, served from 8 to 9, with no vegetables, fruit, or anything sweet. The owner was very sparing with communication. There’s no reception, so it wasn’t clear where to find her; friends who arrived before us handed over our room. I didn’t see the owner all weekend, and on Sunday she stopped me with “Good day, ID please.” I didn’t know who she was and had assumed she was another guest. At breakfast, a man asked if he could have a lemon and was told no. That was the whole exchange. We’ll try somewhere else next time.

We had a lovely time in Harrachov, where we go every year, but we won’t stay at this particular guesthouse again. It seemed perfectly fine at first. After two days, though, we felt like a burden, and our words kept getting twisted.

A peaceful guesthouse with helpful owners. Breakfast is the classic sort, with fresh pastries, salami, cheese, honey, jam, Nutella, vegetables, yogurt, crisps, muesli, hard-boiled eggs, coffee, tea, and milk.
