Verde Rosa

Really disappointing. The staff were sitting at a table, drinking and chatting, and they brought us the wrong food. When the right dish arrived, the pasta was undercooked and covered in Worchester sauce. The woman serving us seemed miserable. I was told they don’t use Worchester sauce. Then, when we asked for the bill, they said the card machine was broken, so we had to walk through the snow to find an ATM. The prosecco rosé was nice, but I’d avoid the place. There are better food options nearby.

I came with my wife and daughter, and the service was really nice, so that gets five stars. The food, though, was a bad experience for me as an Italian. Maybe German or Czech people who haven’t had proper Italian pizza would find it good, but I thought it was horrible. The Zuppa di Pomodoro tasted a lot like Czech Rajská Polévka, with loads of sugar and cream. The pizza dough was completely white, there was too much mozzarella, and I couldn’t make out the tomato sauce. The Focaccia was hard as a frisbee. Gouda smažená was the only dish I liked, though the potatoes were completely unsalted.

I keep finding good food and fair prices here, with friendly service every time. The marinated beetroot salad was the best I’ve had, and the lasagna has been consistently amazing. The weaker point is the pizza, which can sometimes come without salt.

The staff were so warm and friendly. Even though they were fully booked on New Year’s Eve, they let us grab a quick pizza. It came straight from the pizza oven and tasted amazing. Don’t miss this place in Harrachov!
