Akademie Hotel

The portions at the restaurant were huge. The hotel was good and the service was nice.

There’s plenty to do nearby, whether you’re into cycling or other outings, and there’s a great bobsleigh track close by. The rooms are clean and well equipped, with a spacious, clean bathroom and shower. We also had a lovely meal at the restaurant. The menu isn’t huge, but what they make tastes great. Breakfast is mostly buffet, with fresh food on the tables, though the coffee reminded me of something from a vending machine and could’ve tasted better. The hotel also has a whirlpool set up for about eight people, so for just the two of us it felt like a real luxury. The whirlpool hall and shower are together in a large room, and the staff prepare it for a romantic time for two. It’s a great spot for a weekend away.

There’s no mobile signal at the hotel, which is tucked away in nature, but that didn’t really bother me. The place is cozy and clean, and the staff are nice. We tried the five-course tasting menu, and it was edible, though not the best. The regular breakfast and dinner could use some work on both taste and presentation. The bobsleigh track about 1.5 km away is worth visiting, and Olomouc, around 16 km away, has a beautiful historic center and the best restaurant Entreé😍

I was happy with the food and the beautiful natural surroundings, and there are attractions nearby, including the Hlubočky bobsleigh track. But the hotel’s location meant there was no mobile signal, which made things inconvenient. The restaurant shut half an hour before its scheduled 10:00 PM closing time, and there was nowhere else to get food or drinks. There was no fridge or minibar in the room either.
