Zoopark Zelčín

The llamas were the most impressive animals for us, and there’s a trampoline too. The grounds are big, as advertised, but there really aren’t many animals. Mostly it’s small farm animals like chickens, ducks, sheep, and goats, plus a couple of horses, an emu, and a kangaroo. They present it as the biggest petting zoo in CZ, but the price felt very high for what was there. It wasn’t worth going for that cost.

There’s a lot to see, and you can get close to the animals. Staff were nice, and there’s a fast food court in the entrance building. The main drawback is how much of the area is in full sun. The trees are still young and small, so maybe that’ll improve in a few years. You can get there by bike or car, and parking is free.

Feeding the little animals made both my daughters happy. We had a great time with them!

The staff are friendly, though their English is pretty limited, and we managed fine. My family, with kids aged 8 and 5, has visited twice, and it’s a decent place to spend a few hours. There’s a restaurant nearby with mediocre food, but it works well as a stop after walking around. The kids can pet and feed goats, rabbits, horses, llamas, and sheep, then take a break on the trampolines. I’d come again, though the lack of shade and the fairly high prices keep it from getting five stars. A refill of animal food, for example, costs 120Kc.
