Restaurace a penzion Zděná Bouda

We stayed for six days while our grandsons were competing in the European Karate Competition in town. The hotel was set in lovely wooded surroundings, with walkers, dog walkers, skaters, bikes and scooters around. Our room was clean and really nice, with enough space for two adults and two children, and a pleasant en suite shower room. Breakfast was lovely with plenty to choose from, and the meals and snacks were good quality and well priced. The staff were happy and friendly, and nothing felt like too much trouble. There was also a lovely play area, all on safety matting. It's a small, friendly hotel I'd thoroughly recommend. We'd love to come back one day.

We went for an early Christmas lunch and were practically the only ones there, which explains the photos. I tried a steak, battered chicken with mushroom ragout, and honey ribs. The meals were pricey for Hradec, but really good. I can only speak about the restaurant, since I haven't stayed at the hotel. Part of it serves as a pub for cyclists heading to Hradec forests, and they've also opened a newer, more luxurious “winter garden.” Great views, a little waterfall inside, and good food. It's accessible for disabled guests, and there's a children's playground too.

We were sitting outside, and the waitress couldn't be bothered to come over, so I had to get the food myself. The food was average, nothing great. It's a shame, because the location near the woods is good. I won't go again.

Really kind, nice people here! It's vegetarian friendly and right among beautiful woods.
