After more than four years away, I went back to the restaurant, which I used to enjoy. I may just stick to having a drink there from now on. I ordered Carbonara, and was told the chef hadn't got it right the first time. That can happen, but when it arrived it was more like pasta in egg soup. I couldn't think how to send it back, so I ate the pasta and a few pieces of fried bacon, but that was all. After the first unsuccessful attempt, they offered me panna cotta as compensation, which was nice of them. I politely declined because it just didn't taste good. My friend ordered a "hamburger" and said the meat was overcooked and "dry as a road". I hope the chef was simply having a bad day and that the other dishes aren't usually like this.

The service stood out most. The young couple handled things really well, even with a large birthday party taking up most of the restaurant before sitting outside. They managed to look after both hotel guests and people who came in, and we'll come back because of them. Thank you! The interior has a 90's look, so we expected the food to be old-fashioned too, but it was the opposite and pleasantly surprised us. The menu is simple, with two soups, two salads, Czech classics, pasta, burgers, and grilled meat with sauce and a side of your choice. The food was tasty and nicely presented. Great Pilsner on tap, good wine and coffee. One issue was staff communication. We got different opening hours from the hotel reception and the restaurant. Also, when the kitchen is apparently preparing for a large reservation and isn't cooking at lunchtime, it would be nice to let hotel guests know, by SMS or at breakfast, for example.
