The hotel was good and breakfast was fine, but that steak was so disappointing I wouldn't give it to my dog. I can't remember being this let down. If it wasn't fresh, or if it can't be prepared properly, it should come off the menu.

The website photos look warm and welcoming, but think carefully before booking. The rooms were clean, there was plenty of hot water in the shower, and the food was okay, though nowhere near excellent. The main restaurant area, on the other hand, felt cold and bare, and well-behaved small dogs aren't allowed to join you there. Service was fine, but the staff didn't show the usual Czech hospitality or flexibility to do a little extra for customers. Our room was very noisy, and the beds, which seemed to be made from cheap OSB, creaked with every small movement. Depending on the wind, you may also get a terrible smell from the chemical industry in the valley below. We won't be coming back.

The owners have made thoughtful sustainable choices, including soap dispensers. Everything was simple, comfortable, clean, and well organized. Emeran restaurant served tasty food, and the home-brewed beer was fantastic.
