10/10
Breakfast had a good spread, with fruit, breads, meats, cheeses, cereal, yogurt, and coffee from a machine. Our room was lovely and clean, with a great view of the castle and the surrounding landscape. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were great, and the staff were kind and accommodating. We had a really nice stay.

There’s private parking, and the rooms have been modernly renovated. The hotel itself is old, though, and the Wi-Fi ranged from poor to unusable. The restaurant, including drinks, closes at 9 pm.

The bathroom needs attention. It looks old and neglected, and showering is awkward because the screen is too short, so water splashes around. The breakfast was tasty, and the view from the window was beautiful.

We were told to go buy coffee on the street, which felt unhelpful as tourists. There was no coffee in the room, and although we tried to order one in the restaurant, it didn’t open until 10:00 am. It also wasn’t clear whether breakfast was included or what the options were. A disappointing stay, and I wouldn’t recommend it to other tourists.

We had the goulash soup and pork roll from the lunch menu. The pork roll was especially good, and the soup was excellent too. A must-eat in Štramberk.
