Hotel & Pivovar ČERNÝ OREL

The beers are distinctive and really tasty, and the green beer was one of the best I've had. The glass was nice, though I think it could've been chilled. We tried nearly everything on the daily menu, including steak, pizza, and dessert, and every dish was excellent. I think we'll return.

The city itself is beautiful, and the hotel serves excellent food with great service. It's a bit old-style, but the staff and kitchen were very good. The local beer was the standout, one of the best I've ever tasted.

The hotel room was modern and spacious, right in the center by the old city Square. The in-house brewery has a range of very good beers, and the comfortable dining room mixes modern touches with an old-style feel. Service was very poor, and nobody understood English. Breakfast was probably the worst I've had in all my hotel stays, though it could be improved easily if the staff took an interest in keeping the buffet maintained.

We left without eating after a very unpleasant exchange. When we entered the packed restaurant and asked about making a reservation, the waitress said in a really offensive way that she wasn't sure if SHE WOULD REMEMBER to make one. The second waitress was rude too. They were obviously very busy and couldn't handle the Saturday lunchtime rush. For a place like this, on the main square with a brewery inside, they should make sure there's enough staff. The staff's behavior was horrible. I'm not sure restaurant staff in Czech Republic would ever be nice.
