After two weeks traveling around Europe, this was among our worst overnight stays, alongside places in Madrid and the Netherlands. I won't return or recommend it. The house felt like somewhere to sleep and leave as quickly as possible. We tried to hand back the key around 8 so we could get on the road, but a dog barking in the bar made that difficult, so we left the key in the house door. After driving 700 km, we couldn't even have a cold beer because they only took cash, apparently still in crowns, so we had to look for a currency exchange. And I haven't seen mosquitoes this bad in a long time.

It's tucked away in the forest, quite isolated and very basic, so don't expect much comfort. Still, if you like being surrounded by nature, it can feel pretty romantic.

The price for a night is low, and the showers and toilets are new and clean. Washing up is a bit awkward, though, since the shower head is fixed. The cabins had clean bed linen, a small kitchen and a fridge. They can get warm at night when it's flooded. It's a quiet, completely isolated spot for undemanding visitors and fishermen, with no mobile phone signal, and it really is camping. You can buy a cart of wood for 100 CZK or collect it yourself in the forest. The main building has a small food selection, mostly sausages, hamburgers, tašenka and other fast food, plus good beer.

There’s a small pub here, and the owners are really nice. The place is simply furnished but clean, suited to undemanding guests who want nature, ponds and cycling. Třeboň is just a stone’s throw away.
