Lipno is a great place for a holiday, and we'd love to return, but next time we'll stay somewhere else. We enjoyed the trip, yet can't recommend this accommodation because of the owner's treatment of guests. On our first winter holiday with our 6-month-old daughter, the night temperatures outside fell to -10°C. The apartment had been empty before we arrived and wasn't warm. I woke up cold on the first night, and I'm used to that sort of thing, but we were worried about our daughter in her travel cot close to the floor. The thermostat was in the warmest room, the living room, set to 21°C by day and 19°C overnight. I asked the owner to raise it. He said it couldn't be done and that nobody had complained before. Both claims were untrue: he later raised it to 21°C at night, then to 22°C during the day a few days later. Booking reviews also show we weren't the first to have this issue. Our baby played on the floor and got cold after baths. We could raise the thermostat manually, but only for five minutes before it reset, so we had to keep adjusting it every five minutes. Then the owner threatened to end our stay because we were doing that. We've never had this happen elsewhere in the mountains, and people we asked said their other apartments were rather hot. I regret not booking through Booking, since then I could have posted a review there. The owner of Šetřílek gets a red card from our family.
