We especially enjoyed how peaceful and pleasant it was, with the center of Lipno just a short distance from the accommodation. Communication was excellent, and we had a lovely weekend at Lipno. Thanks for the suggestions on what not to miss, and for the tips on renting bikes and boats. We’d be glad to come back.

The cottage Sandra shown on the website looks nice. Unfortunately, we were put in the neighboring cottage Sára, which fell far short of expectations. It hadn't been cleaned, and part of the apartment was being used as storage, covered with some kind of blanket. There was also a bundle of wires sticking out of the wall. Since there were only three of us, the lady locked one of our rooms as well. Outside, there was an unchopped wood store in front of the cottage. As for sitting outdoors, there really wasn't a proper place. We refused the offered seating without the advertised terrace: a rotten parasol, a very old couch, and access by way of a board on the hillside. A complete disaster. When we spoke with the owner, he only made excuses, saying he'd mixed up the reservations and that it would look completely different when we came in 14 days. We suggested he shouldn't rent it out at all, and he replied that it wasn't in the photos either. Who knows why! Never again.

The price was lower than for similar cottages nearby, without a drop in quality. You pay per person, which is great for two people since you don't have to pay for the whole cottage. We had a very pleasant winter holiday in this renovated, beautifully equipped cottage. It was warm inside, and the view of Lipno from the cottage is lovely. The owners were very pleasant and available if we needed anything. The lady welcomed us, showed us around, and explained everything. I'd suggest reading the accommodation rules on the cottage website before your stay, so nothing catches you off guard, though everything can be arranged.

The cottage itself made for a beautiful holiday, but the rules and deposit situation left a sour taste. We were expected to clean before leaving, with 1,000 CZK taken from the deposit if we didn't. We didn't leave a mess, but still washed the toilets and swept, and that seemed to satisfy the requirement. We also learned only from the written instructions inside the cottage that using personal electrical appliances, such as a contact grill or mushroom dryer, was forbidden without the owner's permission. The owner's mother lives next door and keeps an eye on the cottage. We used the grill without knowing about the rule, as it had never been an issue on other holidays. She wanted 500 CZK from our 5,000 CZK arrival deposit, which was meant to cover property damage. Luckily, she decided not to take it. I still don't know whether it would have been called a fine or an energy charge, or how anyone could calculate the energy used over two grill sessions. This ruined our impression of an otherwise lovely stay. We wouldn't choose this place again, and I'd think carefully before booking.
