The view and privacy were a big plus. A few things to keep in mind: although we found the house on the “booking” webpage, we paid separately by bank transfer using details sent by email, which felt odd. At reception, we also had to pay an extra cleaning charge. If you’re staying longer, bring towels and a hair dryer. Towels can be rented there.

The view from the house was nice, and the apartment was clean, spacious, and had a fully equipped kitchen. The rooms were big, with plenty of wardrobes and other furniture. The downsides were a small fridge with no freezer, and some apartments are up a hill that’s hard to walk in winter.

The place looks beautiful, just like the pictures, and the interior is pretty much as shown. But there were serious problems behind that. We booked through Booking.com, then the owner emailed bank details and asked us to pay in advance. I didn’t think at the time that this was bypassing Booking.com, where payments are handled through the site. We paid the price shown on the listing, but at reception we were charged extra for cleaning and for staying in a protected area. As far as I know, Booking.com should include the fees listed on the property’s page. These charges weren’t included, and we were asked to pay cash. They came to almost 20% of what we’d already paid. Towels weren’t included either, and a set cost 100CZK per person. The first floor was full of ants, including in the kitchen and sauna, which were especially unpleasant places to find them. Later, when we tried to use the reservation link in the email to write a review, it went nowhere. It seemed the booking had officially been cancelled, so Booking.com wouldn’t receive any of our payment. To us, this felt like cheating both us and Booking.com.
