Skala

It’s an older hotel, so don’t expect anything fancy, but everything was clean and neat, and I thought it was good value for money. The price was okay, the staff were friendly, and the rooms were fine. Breakfast was very good, with everything you’d expect. There’s free parking in front, and the central location makes it easy to reach the nearby walks.

We came for lunch in August. The family-friendly place is built into a cave-like structure that used to store beer, and the old-time atmosphere really comes through. It’s known for authentic Czech food and beer made in-house. They also have overnight accommodation.

The hotel was quite cold inside, and the restaurant food needs a major improvement. They should stop using frozen products. Some of the rooms have been renovated, and the beds are very comfortable.

Mala Skala is a wonderful city, and the surroundings are very nice. They took good care with our allergies and put up with plenty of noise from us, but the rest of the stay fell short. There was a mouse in our room, we nearly ate moldy bread, and flies got into our food. The food itself was barely acceptable.
