Spa Hotel Continental

The rooms were clean and breakfast was plentiful, but the hotel feels old and could use renovation. Most of the staff seemed bored and reluctant to serve guests.

A lovely spa and wellness hotel with lots of treatment options. Breakfast was good, and the coffee was really good too. The staff were friendly, though most spoke Czech and German.

I especially enjoyed the spa: there were plenty of treatments, and after my massage I felt completely relaxed. The pool and sauna were very good too. The room was roomy, clean, and comfortable, and breakfast had a great buffet with something for everyone. Dinner was varied and tasty, though we had to choose our main course the evening before. The hotel is right by the park, with its Café across from the children's play area and two natural springs. The spring farther down the park, behind the athletes stadium, tastes good. We’ll definitely return.

The restaurant made for a very strange experience. At the paid “romantic” dinner, we were handed an English menu, but what arrived had no connection to what it said. I still can’t understand why they gave us a menu and then ignored it. There was no choice, just “you eat whatever we give you.” The regular dinner was much the same, with one starter, one main and one dessert option, and no English menu. The food itself was pleasant enough, nothing special, and not bad. Breakfast was great, with simple, good local food. Rooms were clean and pleasant; the shower was a little uncomfortable, probably because of the building's age. The sauna was nice, but the “pool” is only 2x2 meters, so you can stand in it and that’s about it. The wet sauna didn’t work at all, only the dry one. The hotel feels like a solid 3-star place, definitely not 4-star. Stay if you like, but I wouldn’t pay for dinner there. Try a local restaurant instead. It’s the weirdest restaurant we’ve eaten in.
