Mlýn Pataki

It’s a really pretty guesthouse in a former steam mill, with a Japanese garden and a terrace for sitting outside. There’s plenty to look at inside too, with flowers and historic artifacts throughout. The squash court, pool, sauna and tennis courts are open to people who aren’t staying at the guesthouse as well. The service is nice, and you can get coffee, tea, and alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks. Unfortunately, they don’t serve food out of season, so I’ve taken points off.

It’s no longer operating. They say it’s meant to become a kindergarten in October, but so far there’s been no sign of activity.

The roast chicken was dry, and the salmon smelled bad. The portions were tiny, like kindergarten servings, but the prices were sky-high.

The pool and sauna were great, and the staff were pleasant too. The accommodation itself was rustic, but the food was excellent.
