The owners were wonderful, and the quiet surroundings make this a great base for exploring the Broumov region. The 19th-century farmhouse has been beautifully renovated in the local Thuringian style. Just don't come expecting to spend your stay watching TV or sitting in a jacuzzi :-)

The rules were a real problem for me. The booking form said one thing, but at the entrance we were told different rules, including checking out an hour earlier. The owner then ostentatiously cleaned and announced a room inspection. I understand that shoes must be taken off as soon as you enter, but that should be mentioned beforehand so I could at least have brought my flip-flops in from the car. The way the rules were imposed without warning, along with the owner's suspicion that we'd do something wrong, made it hard to relax. I've worked in hospitality for over 20 years and have strong views on guest comfort, so I wouldn't come back. My feelings are mixed, but lean negative. The place itself is interesting, though quite far from town, and it's quiet, with birdsong waking us at dawn. The hot water heater is small, so there's only enough hot water for a quick shower.

The owners were really helpful and accommodating. We found the place clean and pleasant, with a beautiful view and a great location near the Broumov Walls.
