That Stará Paka beer was a surprisingly good find, and the food was much better than we expected from the first impression. The dishes felt original, not like the usual things served in every Czech restaurant. We skipped dessert because we were too full. At first we were the only customers, but the place filled up later. We’d arrived early on a midweek evening.

The homemade drinks were delicious, and our server couldn’t have been kinder. It was easy to order several vegetarian dishes. The tomato soup was the best I’ve ever had, and the goat cheese appetizer was phenomenal. I’d recommend the salmon salad, with or without the salmon.

The host, who owns the place, was attentive and spoke English very well. We had a great dinner last night at Novopacke Sklepy, with delicious food and a lovely ambiance. We were impressed.

The nostalgic setting was a nice part of the experience, and the service was good. The beefburgers were delicious. This restaurant was amazing.
