Theatre Hotel

The shower was fantastic, and the room has a striking, modern look with a dark, stylish feel. You step straight into the open-plan bathroom when you walk in, which is an interesting design choice. The downsides stood out once we reached the lobby: the casino attached to the hotel leaves a strong cigarette smell downstairs, which takes away from the hotel atmosphere. Noise was an issue in our room too. We could hear neighbors through the thin walls, and our window faced a street with tram tracks. Light sleepers may want to look elsewhere. If you’re driving, the location on the outskirts near the highway is convenient. Just be aware that downtown is about a 30-minute walk.

Entrée made a strong impression, both for its nature-themed decor, with plant-covered walls and a fish sculpture ceiling, and for its inventive, fresh, flavorful dishes. The Theatre Hotel itself is a small boutique place with only 20 rooms, near Olomouc, and felt like a rare find. I travel often, staying at 40+ hotels a year, and this one really stood out. The Scene Wellness Center had several relaxation areas, atmospheric lighting, and a luxurious but restorative feel. I had a deep tissue massage that brought real relief, and the therapist was skilled at finding tension I hadn’t noticed. There are thoughtful details throughout the building, inspired by nature, so exploring it was a pleasure. Even the standard rooms felt spacious, while the Jr. Suites were so homey I could imagine staying much longer. The lobby makes a stylish first impression, with leather, rich fabrics, dramatic furniture, and a sculptural copper espresso machine. The design, comfort, and amenities all felt carefully considered. Staying or dining here left me wanting an encore.

The rooms are new, clean, and nicely designed. That was the main positive for me. The wellness booking was an unpleasant surprise: it cost 500+ czk per person to reserve a time, but there were 10+ other people booked for that same slot, so it was completely crowded. The TV signal was poor too, and we couldn’t watch TV or YouTube on it. Breakfast wasn’t anything special. The scrambled eggs were very runny, and there weren’t many vegetables to choose from. All in all, I don’t think the high-end price is justified.

The spa and massages were available, though I didn’t have time to try them. Prices are on the higher side for Olomouc. The room’s furniture and equipment were excellent, clearly put together by a designer who did a great job. Breakfast was great too, though watch out for the coffee, it’s stronger than usual.
