The restaurant food was good, though breakfast was pretty skimpy. The location is ideal for exploring the karst. The rooms were okay, but the apartments felt overpriced. Cleanliness was only average, and our bathroom sink stayed clogged because they couldn't get it fixed during our stay. The towels were old, stiff, and smelled bad.

The food was the letdown: the ingredients seemed good, but the kitchen was inconsistent and sometimes went overboard with the salt. Such a shame. Otherwise, this is a cozy little retreat away from the tourist trail, in a nicely restored period house, with tucked-away parking and lots of local touches, plus some unexpected extras like a climbing wall and a luxury spa. The restaurant menu changes often, and the weekday lunch specials have 8-10 quick, easy options with generous portions. There's also a sunny terrace by the restaurant, and the salon has loads of toys and room for kids. Staff were friendly and efficient.

We had excellent service, and the prices seemed reasonable. The hotel was spotless, with a lovely mix of modern and traditional style, and the surrounding area is beautiful. I'd definitely recommend it.
