Botel Vodník

We spent four nights here and loved it. The rooms were comfortable, the breakfast was good, and the river view was lovely, all for a very good price. The botel is a bit far from Prague's main attractions. All the photos were taken from the boat.

There was black mould across the rooms, a strange smell, and spots and hairs everywhere in the bathroom. Don't go. The breakfast, though, was really good, with cakes, bread, cheese, sausages, eggs and yoghurt bowls.

The location is nice and the breakfast is awesome. The rooms are okay, but don't open the windows or about a thousand spiders will come in. The service was really poor, except for the guy on the night shift. At breakfast, the woman actually put a lot of the condiments, including butter and jam, into her personal bags. The women working there had a very poor attitude and didn't speak English or Czech. The owner should look into it.

The staff were genuinely warm and helpful, making everything smooth and pleasant from start to finish. The place has real character, with old Prague photos in the hallways and a sense of history. It was clean, tidy and welcoming, with a soul of its own. Breakfast was very enjoyable, and the riverside dining room added to the stay. Botel Vodnik is a boat anchored on the river, with a fantastic view across to Vyšehrad. Sitting on the top deck in the morning with coffee or a smoke, listening to the cathedral bells over the water, felt like a magical Prague moment. The location is excellent too: tram, metro and train are just steps away. You're connected to the city while still a little off the tourist track. I stayed earlier this year and remember it fondly. Places like this are rare now: affordable, authentic and full of heart. Highly recommended if you want your own little Prague story instead of another generic room.
