Buddha-Bar Hotel Prague

The location is fantastic, just a 5-minute walk from the main attractions, and most of the staff were friendly and welcoming. We liked the hotel's cosy, distinctive atmosphere, though it felt too dark at times. Construction around the building also detracted from the ambience. For the premium price, though, I expected more. The room felt old and used, short of the modern, fresh luxury boutique standard I expected. The birthday flowers and balloons cost €100, but the flowers had wilted by the next day. At check-in I confirmed that the full stay had been charged, yet another amount was later deducted. The hotel said this followed its separate booking SOP, but I'd requested an extension before arrival, so I expected it to be handled as one booking without another charge appearing unexpectedly. I booked the “Romantic Getaway” spa suite for 3 hours expecting an experience for two. There was only one massage bed, so my wife and I would have had to take turns, and I cancelled. I was also disappointed to learn the masseuse came from a nearby massage shop that charges much less. That wasn't what I'd expect from a luxury hotel spa. The staff, charm, and location are strong, but the spa, birthday arrangements, billing, and room condition left me questioning the value. I expected a smoother, more thoughtful, higher-quality stay for the price. At this point I'm not sure I'd choose it again.

The breakfast was sensational, and the staff were fantastic, offering all sorts of helpful advice on places to see and things to do. Everyone was exceptionally friendly and made it feel like nothing was too much trouble. The service really lived up to the Budda Bar theme. Though the hotel is more than 20 years old, inside and out it looks like it was built yesterday. I was worried by the comments about prices, but they weren't true in my experience. The prices are in line with hotels offering this level of rooms and facilities. Absolutely stunning. You blew my mind, and I'm extremely grateful. I'll definitely be back with my family in 2026. The staff were lovely and helpful, but we had to switch off the heating and open the windows because the rooms were so hot. We stayed 4 nights Sunday - Wednesday, then cancelled the last night. The hotel bar was shut Sunday and Monday, and there were private functions on Tuesday and Wednesday. We had breakfast on the first morning, then chose to eat healthier elsewhere because the coffee was poor.

I paid 200euro for a voucher and booked a 3h spa ritual, but the wellness experience was the worst possible. I arrived on time and was welcomed into the spa area. It began with soaking my feet in cold water, which was meant to be followed by a hot shower, but there was no hot water. The ritual depended on a couple of hot showers between massages, so it couldn't continue properly. Reception came to assess things and left me waiting 45 minutes before finally saying we'd have to postpone to another day. I found this extremely frustrating and unacceptable. The receptionist was rude and offered no solution, just saying there had been an outage the day before. I'm still wondering whether I'll get a refund for the 200 euro voucher. They said they'd called the manager to agree on next steps, but he didn't pick up 😳😳
