Camping Sokol Praha

The campsite restaurant serves good food and beer, with friendly service, and guests can use the pool. The bathrooms are clean. After heavy rain the pitches can get quite muddy, and in good weather I doubt you’ll find a space without booking ahead.

We came with a group and stayed in several cabins. They’re older, but clean and in workable condition. They sit close together, so there isn’t much privacy from the neighbours. The pool shown in the website photos hadn’t been set up yet because the season hadn’t started. The campsite is in a quiet rural area outside the city, with a well-stocked supermarket nearby. Prague’s centre is about 20 minutes away by train or bus. Public transport is well organised, inexpensive, and runs throughout the day and for much of the night. The service was friendly and helpful. It’s a good-value place to stay if you want to visit Prague without staying in the city, or if you want to leave your car safely outside the centre.

We brought our camper for four nights and really enjoyed staying at Sokol Camping. The campsite is tidy, and the sanitary facilities were clean and adequate. We ate at the Restaurant once and thought the food was really good. Getting around by public transport is easy. The Prague visitor pass is recommended, though reaching the centre takes about an hour by bus and then metro.

We arrived after reception had closed, but the information board outside had our reservation and all the details we needed. It included a campsite map, our pitch marked on it, and a route to get there, which was a nice surprise. Tickets for public transport are available at reception, and getting into Prague is easy. Maneuvering a large RV or a long caravan here wouldn’t be comfortable.
