Cathedral Prague Apartments

The rooms are pretty basic, and our executive room was just passable. Restaurant service was ordinary, and the breakfast ordering setup was odd. Still, it was a pleasant enough stay. Cathedral apartments’ real advantage is the location, very close to the square with the main Christmas market. I wouldn’t be in a rush to return.

Cathedral is right in the middle of the old town, and the rooms were clean, if a little small. That central location outweighed those drawbacks for me. I was put on the second floor, despite the reservations team knowing about my medical condition for months. There’s no elevator, and the stairs are narrow and winding. With no reception before 8am, perhaps later, I had to get my suitcase down two flights myself and hope I wouldn’t need an ambulance because of my breathing difficulties. It feels negligent for hotels to ignore requests like this. I guess they won’t act until someone dies and the family sues them.

We were right in the city center, about 20 seconds from the astronomical clock. The room was lovely, and the staff were kind and very helpful when we asked how to travel by train. There was no air conditioning, but a big floor fan and windows that opened, so that was fine. The doors took a bit of figuring out when reception was closed, but we got the hang of them.

Even if you’re not staying at the hotel, you can still go there for breakfast. The food was amazing, really delicious, and the apple tea was lovely. Trust me, get one. 😊 We ate there twice, and the prices were normal.
