Century Old Town Prague - Mgallery

We arrived around 11 in the morning, and our room was already ready, which was a lovely surprise. We stayed in the beautifully decorated Kafka suite. Everything looked modern, spotless, and nearly new, including the fixtures and appliances. The bed was comfortable, with warm quilting and soft pillows. The bathroom had strong shower pressure and a lovely large bath, and the included soaps and shampoos were high quality. The hotel is only about a five-minute walk from the old town centre, right in the middle of the action. We also had breakfast there, and it went beyond what we expected, with lots of high-quality choices, freshly cooked omelettes, and drinks. The hotel bar had a nice range of drinks, though I think louder background music would make it feel less quiet. I’d definitely stay here again if I come back to Prague. Thanks for a great stay!

Check-in, the hotel room, and housekeeping were good, and the location was excellent. But our visit to K Bar really soured the stay. One night we arrived around 9:10 pm and waited 15 minutes. When I went to order, the bartender told me we’d have to wait because others had been there first. There wasn’t a big crowd, just a small group who weren’t staying at the hotel. He came over at 9:30 while we were ordering food and said the kitchen was closed. My wife said we’d already been waiting for someone to take our order and that this wasn’t good service. The waiter replied, “I don’t care, you are not a priority”. That was shocking in a hospitality business, especially when hotel guests should be treated as a priority. We settled for drinks, but the whole thing left a lasting bad impression. The next day we ate at the restaurant and the same person served us. He tried to make amends with a bottle of water, but that wouldn’t have been enough even if he’d offered something else. We’d wanted to try more at the bar, but didn’t go back after that.

The location made it easy to explore the Old Town and tourist sights, and it felt like the right choice for our Christmas treat. The rooms were luxurious, with very high ceilings and lovely details, including super-soft robes. Staff were incredibly friendly and spoke impeccable English, which was reassuring if you’re worried about your Czech. We spent quite a bit of time relaxing in the lobby and bar, and those spaces had wonderful touches too.

One of the best hotels I’ve stayed at. Every staff member was terrific, professional and friendly, and focused on guests feeling comfortable and happy. The breakfast lounge waiting staff were especially lovely, all smiles and enthusiasm, and clearly happy to look after guests.
