Clown and Bard Hostel

We were three girls staying for two nights, and the total price was a fair 110€ for all of us. We’d booked about two months ahead and wanted somewhere cheap but still in the city, so this hostel fit well. The guys working there were friendly when we arrived, explained everything, and were very helpful. Our three-bed room was clean, and although the shared bathrooms could use renovation, they weren’t dirty. There’s a Lidl nearby and a train station close too. We loved the stay, and if we’d stayed longer, I’m sure we’d have met lots more nice people.

There were three of us, and it was nearly evening with rain starting when we suddenly found a great room offer on the website. It took a little while to sort out the details on arrival, but the bartender kept things funny and cheered us up. The room was comfortable enough for the night. In the morning, unsure where we’d be going next, we wanted to make tea in a thermos cup. Somehow it came flying out of the kitchen in a sudden burst, spilling tea across one bed and leaving quite a lot of stains. We had only ten minutes before checkout. We accepted that these things happen and went downstairs to explain it to the bartender. He looked a bit confused, then another guy read what I’d written in the translator, looked at me, and I got scared. He just said, “No problem.” I asked, “No problem?” and felt so much better. What a great moment in our lives. Thanks to the staff for their work.

I had a very positive stay at the hostel. There weren’t any luxuries, but it was really fine. The room was clean, and the only downside was that the bathroom was very hot, though bearable. The bald staff member was very handsome 😇.

The room was dirty, run-down, and furnished with poor-quality furniture. We took photos as soon as we arrived because we worried they might blame us for damage that was already there and charge us. It felt as if they were looking for ways to add extra costs, and the place seemed overpriced for what it offered. We were a school group, and the owner’s manner was rude and unwelcoming from the start. We were even told the police would be called if we made any noise at all, which felt intimidating and unnecessary. A notice also said the hostel wasn’t responsible if guests’ belongings were stolen by other guests or intruders, which left us feeling unsafe. The whole stay was a very negative experience, and I wouldn’t recommend Clown and Bard Hostel.
