The rooms are roomy, clean, and practical, so they work well as a place to return to after exploring the city. The central location would be a real plus, but construction right outside made getting in and out inconvenient. There’s very little space in the public areas, and no services outside office hours. Add the dated decor and lack of personal attention, and the place feels indifferent rather than welcoming. It’s adequate if you want a simple stay without extras, but in its current condition I’d give it 3 out of 5.

The shower worked well, the bed was comfortable, and the location was excellent for the city. Parking was listed as available, though that meant parking on the street. Those were the good parts. The twin beds were pushed head to head to fit a room about 10 feet wide, which felt uncomfortable. The pictures on Hotels .com don’t accurately show the place: the poster suggests breakfast and a bright reception, but those aren’t here, and the grand building shown gives way to a small entrance among other buildings. The receptionist we saw twice was arguing with a guest when we arrived, so service didn’t feel welcoming. Hotels .com gives it 8.4, which made me wonder whether the owners wrote the reviews. We won’t be back.

I found a serious safety problem in room 602: an old wall lamp sits directly above the bed, loose and visibly worn, with rust where it meets the wall. If it came down while someone was asleep, it could cause a severe head injury. This should be fixed or removed before anyone stays in that room. A basic room check should catch something unstable hanging above a guest’s head. The hotel either isn’t inspecting rooms or isn’t taking guest safety seriously. Until this hazard is dealt with, I consider the room unsafe and the hotel’s handling of it irresponsible.

At 11 p.m. a staff member came into our room rudely, saying water from our shower had leaked downstairs because we’d showered too long. There was some water on the floor even with the curtain closed, but a small amount of leakage seemed normal to us. The next day, as we were heading out, the manager threatened us with a choice: leave, or stay and pay an extra 200 Euro. He gave no evidence or valid reason, then said we had to leave within an hour. We were being asked to pay 200 Euro in the middle of the night, and again faced that charge the next day. I saw an earlier Google review describing a similar incident. If you book here, be ready for a sudden extra 200 Euro charge. It happened to us, and could happen to you. Gob bless👍 Regards
