EA Hotel Tosca

I chose the room from the picture and was pleased with how clean and peaceful it was. The reception ladies were really kind, too. The location is great, near Namesty Miry, with metro, buses, and trams, plus coffee shops, a bakery, markets, and plenty of restaurants.

I left the hotel early. The top-floor rooms have a strong toilet and sewage smell, and the hotel knows about it. Their solution seems to be automatic chemical perfume and toilet freshener dispensers in both the bathrooms and bedrooms. The smell mixed with the chemicals was almost unbearable, like trying to sleep in a public restroom.

The room was tidy and spacious, and the bathroom was clean. Staff were friendly, the prices were great, and the hotel is perfectly located. We had a lovely receptionist :). You can’t reach anyone by phone, though, so email is the better way to ask questions. They respond quickly. I can only recommend this hotel.

We booked this as a city break package through a major online company, but our flight was delayed and the hotel cancelled our booking. Then we had to pay again, at a higher price. We were lucky to have the funds available. Transfers were included, but the shuttle and reception are only available during office hours, so arriving after 5 p.m. meant paying for a taxi. The staff were rude and unhelpful, and checkout came with a strict get-out policy and nowhere safe to leave a suitcase. It’s a very basic budget hotel that charges twice and has a terrible attitude. I gave one star because zero wasn’t an option. Avoid this hotel.
