It’s in a nice, safe-feeling area, a little away from the bustle, with cafes and restaurants close by and a Tescos express within a five-minute walk. The underground is also about five minutes away, and the city center takes around 10-15 minutes on foot. We found the staff kind and helpful and would come back. The simple, clean rooms have what you need: a TV, stovetop, dishes, kettle, coffee and tea, blow dryer and body wash. We had a really comfortable stay.

The location is great and the room looked good on paper, but I soon understood why it was cheaper than expected. There’s no one at reception except during a few specific hours, and cleaning seems limited to the bed and towels. My bedside table has a pale, odd-looking stain I don’t want to touch, and I keep finding stray hairs on the tables. The counter was mostly white even though it had been black, which made it look like it might be covered in mold. The dishes were put back without being cleaned. The fridge was packed with a huge block of ice because it was set to maximum. The water is advertised as clean, but with so little sink maintenance it comes out almost chalk-white.

The beds were terribly uncomfortable, though the rooms were clean and spacious. The location was very good, in a quiet, safe area near trams and several places to eat. Parking was another matter: they advertise private parking but have very few spaces, and you need to reserve one in advance. They were full when we arrived and sent us to a lot 30 minutes away that cost twice as much. I expected at least a discount matching their own parking rate. Reception is only open 1000-1600, which makes leaving luggage for an early or late tour difficult. They also promised to send a key through an app for easy access, but never did. I wouldn’t return or recommend it. Most certainly NOT a 4 star hotel.

Staff entered our room without knocking on two days in a row. One time my wife was in the shower, and the intrusion left her shaken and unwell. That was the worst part of a terrible stay, but the room had other serious problems too: it was dirty and unhygienic, there was no air conditioning in the middle of summer, and the only fan was so dusty it couldn’t be used. The balcony was shared with another room, leaving no privacy, and this wasn’t mentioned when we booked. When we arrived, we were left waiting outside for 40 minutes because they had forgotten the key, so we had to call an international number at our expense. Reception is open only a few hours a day, unacceptable for a hotel claiming four stars. Avoid it. It’s not four-star, safe, hygienic or worth the money. The worst experience of my life. This hotel should be reported to the authorities for deceptive practices and privacy violations.
