The extra charges became clear after I arrived. Agoda showed check-in until 8 PM, but the owner asked for another €30, and turning on the A/C also cost €30 a night. I tried to cancel as soon as I learned about these added costs, which came to nearly 30% more for basic A/C and check-in, but the owner refused and was hostile about it. The terms had already been agreed, so changing them unilaterally felt unlawful. The room had no working Wi-Fi, so I had to use the unreliable Starbucks connection. I also found hair on my towel, got bites while sitting on the sofa, and couldn't use A/C. Noise continued until 4 AM, so keeping the windows shut meant no fresh air unless I paid another €30. The parking area was badly laid out, with such tight spaces that I wouldn't take an SUV in without full insurance. Getting the car out was also restricted outside the service hours. This was the worst stay I've had. I'd tell people to avoid it. For reference, the policy said: guests should share their arrival time and whether they need parking. Parking was in a secure complex inside James Hotel for 900 CZK per night, arranged in advance. It warned that central Prague parking is restricted and cars without a special permit could be towed. Check-in was free from 2 PM to 5 PM; from 5 PM to 11:30 PM it cost €30 per room, and check-in after 11:30 PM wasn't possible because the hotel closed then. Check-out was 5:00-11:00. A/C could be ordered at reception for €30 per night. Airport taxi prices were €70 round trip, or €130 for groups of five or more; one-way airport-to-hotel was €40, or €70 for groups of five or more. Other Prague transport could be discussed. Secure garage parking was 900 CZK per night, except from 29.12. to 2.1. when it was €50 nightly. The policy also warned of fines over 2000CZK for parking on blue lines in Prague 1 without a special permit.

The location made getting to the old town and the city's clubs easy. We had a really pleasant stay at James Hotel and Apartments this week: the rooms were spacious and clean, and reception service was spot on.

A comfortable, clean apartment in a great spot. I was disappointed to learn that A/C came with an extra €30 charge per day. Aside from that surprise, I think it's a good place to spend a few days in beautiful Prague.

The location is the one good thing here. The photos and the actual hotel felt like two different worlds: it was dirty and gloomy, and the staff seemed untrained. The refrigerator didn't work, the A/C didn't work, and the toilets smelled like a Czech brewery. We only stayed 12 hours, but the bill went from 69€ to 129€. They also wanted another 30€ for a late checkout, even though we'd discussed and agreed to that without a charge beforehand. Our car was trapped in their broken parking space, so the delay was their fault. Parking was 30€ and left us unable to drive away. They'd also wanted money for late check-in despite the earlier agreement. Never again.
