Legie Hotel

The location is a real plus. Major bus lines nearby go to the centre and main tourist areas, and you can walk to the Central Train Station, which is handy for continuing on to places like Budapest or Vienna. The building itself looks a little shabby and run-down, which could put some people off or make them feel unsafe. The room is dated, with old carpets and very basic amenities. There’s no real decor, and it feels like a place just to sleep rather than a well-maintained room. Still, it’s acceptable for a short stay of 2-3 nights, especially if you’ll be out exploring during the day. There’s a small fee to leave luggage in the property’s baggage room after checkout.

We’ve just come home after three nights and four days at hotel Legie, and really enjoyed the stay. The location is very convenient for Prague’s main attractions, with tram, bus and metro stations right outside. Staff were knowledgeable, extremely friendly and helpful. One evening, when rain started and we were tired, they even arranged a taxi back for us. The continental breakfast was excellent, and they had gluten-free bread for us. The room was basic but perfectly functional for a city break, with a walk-in shower, shower gel, hairdryer and towels. Our only complaint was there’s no bar or place to relax in the evening if you return early. We’ll come back next time we visit Prague.

The room was clean, though a bit small, and the location was perfect, with stations and markets close by. Very loud people spent the night shouting, laughing and talking in the hotel hallway, and the hotel staff didn’t do anything about it.

For the price, I was completely fine with this hotel and would stay again. My room was new, clean and had no odd smells. The bed was comfortably firm with a heavy blanket, and I set the AC to 20C overnight and slept really well. Staff were friendly, check-in and checkout were easy, there’s a fridge in the hallway for snacks, and the hotel is right by a metro station. The shower wall wasn’t sealed properly, so water leaked onto the floor. The rooms also weren’t well soundproofed, although it was quiet at night. A few other things: yes, it’s beside a main road, something you can see on a map before booking. If you’re visiting in high summer, a room with AC might help. And waiting a minute for a full elevator isn’t the end of the world. As in any tourist place, a “good day” and “thank you” in the local language will get you by.
