Metropol Design Hotel Old Town

We spent seven days at the Design Metropol hotel Prague in mid-November 2025 and had a really good stay. Michal at reception was especially helpful and gave us valuable information, and Tomas Basar sent useful emails. All the staff were kind. The hotel was clean and comfortable, and breakfast was delicious, plentiful, and changed a little each day. Its Old Town location on a main street was excellent. We walked to many sights, and the metro and several tram stops were close by. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone on the staff. We’d choose this hotel again if we return to beautiful Prague.

The view was brilliant, and the staff were welcoming, with a bright, friendly reception. We stayed three days and walked everywhere thanks to the top location. Breakfast was nice and offered some variety. The rooms were cozy and just the right size, not too big or too small. The Manager was good as well.

The rooms were very clean, and the staff were helpful. It’s in a great spot for visiting Prague’s old town, and breakfast had an amazing selection. Friendly hotel, and I’d definitely come back.

The hotel was in a handy spot, two minutes from Mustek metro station and within walking distance of the central sights. The terrace was cozy, though I wish it stayed open past 22:00. Our rooms felt small for the price, and the rooms advertised with a view didn’t have particularly good views. We’d mentioned our birthday celebration several times and honestly expected a small gesture, but nothing happened. There’s just one lift, so waits can be long at busy check-in and check-out times. Luggage storage costs 1 EUR per bag, and I wasn’t keen on the room cleaning service. The heater also wasn’t effective the first night, and the room was very cold. It’s a nice hotel, but I think other places at the same price could give a better experience.
